About 22.00 began flying enemy aircraft over the city. Despite the anti-aircraft artillery fire, one He-111 bomber managed to break through to Leningrad. In two unsuccessful attacks on the bomber Sevastyanov spent the entire ammunition. In order not to miss the enemy, the pilot summed up his plane back to the “Heinkel” and cut off his tail rotor. Then Sevastyanov left damaged fighter and landed by parachute. The bomber crashed in the Tauride Garden (his tail for a long time kept in the Museum of the History of Leningrad).
